Reinsurance Leader, Munich American Re, Signals Continued Growth and Change for Group Department and Strategic Initiatives

 

 

 

Atlanta, -- July 31, 2008 -- Munich American Reassurance Company, one of the leading life and living benefits reinsurance companies in the United States, announced the appointments of Stephen Rulis as Vice President - Group and Thomas Penn-David as Vice President - Business Development, effective August 1, 2008.

Mr. Rulis headed Munich American's Group Actuarial area for the last five years. In this role, he was responsible for financial management of the group reinsurance portfolio and for pricing and product support for group life insurance, disability and credit products. In 2007, Mr. Rulis was appointed President of MARCo, a South Carolina captive insurance company that allows Munich American to reinsure certain types of casualty insurance such as Involuntary Unemployment Insurance.

Mr. Penn-David has assumed a variety of roles in his 25-year career at Munich American. He will be moving from Vice President - Group to the newly created business development position. Mr. Penn-David will provide support and expertise to the Life, Group and Living Benefits departments in the growth and enhancement of Munich American's business offerings.
