As new products emerge, we are actively engaged in analyzing their design characteristics. We support innovative designs that address the protection needs of the market.
Offerings
MARC focuses on basic reinsurance coverage to meet our clients’ needs. We offer quota share and excess reinsurance on a YRT or coinsurance rate basis. We reinsure a range of products, including monthly income, overhead expense, buy-sell, and ADL based products. As new products emerge, we are actively engaged in analyzing their design characteristics. We support designs that innovatively address the protection needs of the market. Where appropriate, we will work with you to develop specialized forms of reinsurance covers tailored to meet your specific needs.
MARC also periodically provides a DI/LTC Customer Conference to inform our clients of the newest trends and developments. We also offer customized training seminars on a number of topics. One result of our ongoing research is an up-to-date and comprehensive online DI underwriting manual.

Our experienced team of underwriting, actuarial, medical, claims, and administrative professionals are available to you for their opinions and ideas. In addition, as part of the Munich Re Group of worldwide companies, we have access to international expertise in disability products and practices from around the world.
We can provide support and guidance in product design and modification of existing products in response to changing demographics and market needs. We encourage innovation in the development of disability products and/or programs that do not fit the traditional mold—for example, Multi-life markets with modified underwriting programs, combination products or programs where DI is packaged with other forms of insurance coverage, and alternative forms of disability definitions such as Activities of Daily Living (ADL) disability defined products.
We have paced our staffing needs to our market plans and growth. In 1999, we added experienced underwriters and claims examiners and now have five full-time underwriters dedicated to Individual Health. They are supported by our two CPAs and four Medical Directors, as well as medical consultants. Our claims staff has many years of disability experience, and we maintain consulting relationships with industry experts to back up our internal expertise.
